Many who see our repurposed building remember their parents bringing them to purchase their first set of football pads, a catcher’s mitt, or hunting gear when our yellow, blue, and gray building was the old Jumbo Sports in Taylors.
Others tell us, “Hey, I used to have a gym membership right in this very building. The basketball court was over there.” In fact, we can still show them the floor of the old court that now serves as the floor of our storage units.
Still others (and this goes WAY BACK) tell us, “I used to come to the drive-in movies every Saturday evening right here at the old Belmont Drive-In,” or, “My first date was here at the Belmont many years ago,” or, “We would see how many friends we could pack in the trunk of my dad’s old Buick just to aggravate the gatekeeper, if he found us out.”
From its decades as a drive-in movie theater to a sports store to a couple stints as a fitness center, the property at 3146/3150 Wade Hampton Blvd has seen many changes over the years. However, Taylors Self-Storage is here to stay.
